About Advantage Pools Bay Area

Advantage Pools Bay Area started 20+ years ago as a plant nursery known as Diablo tropicals where we transitioned into a pool contractor/builder. After so many compliments from customers of the nursery after seeing our pool that was built by us at our house, they would ask, would you be able to build me a pool like this? One project led to another until we fully transitioned from Diablo Tropicals Nursery to Advantage Pools Bay Area. The first pool my father (Brian Cardiff) ever built was Fremont in the 80’s and since then has always know what it takes to build a stronger pool after having bad experiences with contractors which resulted in doing it himself.

My background is in machining and engineering where I worked previously for a machine shop and my father owned a machine shop as well. I obtained a bachelors degree in Technological Entrepreneurship & Management at Arizona State University, and am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering at Texas Tech University.

My father has a long history of entrepreneurship since his early 20’s where he was a built a monster truck under the name Cardiff Giant and toured around the country doing shows until scaling to build a truck for the brand Hawaiian Punch that sponsored his endeavors to build their truck. His dad (my grandfather) was a machinist that had his own machine shop which my dad took over with his brothers (my uncle). After the machine shop and monster trucks he got into the card printing business before transitioning to a plant nursery after having moved from Fremont to Brentwood CA. And this is where Diablo Tropicals Nursery and Advantage Pools Bay Area began.

Advantage Pools Bay Area stands out to competitors due to our authenticity. We build pools for our clients the way we would want our pool built. For us this is passion and we want to stand out by building the best pools for our clients. We use stronger gunite, more steel rebar, we are timely and schedule our phases right after one another so clients aren’t in limbo waiting for the next phase. Our communication stands out as the best in the business. As our clients can tell you, we are always there to help and care for our customers. To us they are like family and many of which we have kept in contact with and become great friends. A lot of this business is about relationships and meeting great people which is the best part of the job.
